Testimonials

"Astrid has been amazing in working with my children. When we started, she astutely determined what each of them was ready for (they were 4 and 6 at the time). Due to the pandemic, we started over Zoom, which seemed like it would have been impossible (especially for my older one who hates zoom classes) but Astrid was skillful at engaging her and she learned a lot despite being remote. One of the things Astrid worked on with both my kids has been voice and pitch. In those early months, listening to my tone-deaf children, I admired Astrid's patience in trying to teach them to hear and match pitch, but it seemed like it was never going to work. But Astrid persisted and slowly it started to click, and now my daughter can match pitches and pick out notes on the piano when she writes her own songs. (The younger one has also improved but due to age is not at that level yet.) My kids also struggled with attention and commitment, and Astrid was able to consistently engage them and pivot with different activities or ideas when needed. My kids always enjoyed their lessons with her, and I was so impressed with their progress. Astrid is lovely to work with as a parent, also; I was incompetent at the online platform but she was very patient with me and made it easy with weekly emailed lesson notes and links to materials. I recommend Astrid very highly!"

"Astrid has been an amazing singing teacher - when I first started with her I had no idea how to sing and was convinced I had a "bad voice" and no idea how to sing in tune. Astrid was encouraging, uplifting and was great at teaching me how to use my voice in a way that was authentic, alongside teaching me the mechanics of singing so that I could actually sing songs that I enjoyed! She's been very easy to work with, very flexible, and never made me feel self conscious or embarrassed if I sang out of tune or sounded off in our lessons. She was always my biggest cheerleader. I loved working with her and would highly recommend her to anyone learning to sing, or who wants to improve their singing because she is a great teacher!"

"I always look forward to working with Astrid each week. Her range of musical experience and knowledge alongside a clear fluency in vocal technique leads to productive and stimulating voice lessons. She is skilled at helping students set attainable goals and also is comfortable talking about the more psychological aspects of vocal performance.

Astrid has such a talent for putting people at ease. Our lessons are focused but always fun. I'll often find myself laughing at the same time that I'm working to make incremental and meaningful progress. Working with Astrid has helped me gain a better understanding of my range, areas to focus, and my strengths as a singer."

"Astrid is a wonderful voice teacher! She helped me so much in my confidence level and in quality, tone, and power of my voice. I have always sung alone and in ensembles throughout my life. I wanted to find a voice instructor who could help me to sing higher notes more powerfully. I also wanted to develop my ability to be able to identify and deliver harmonies more quickly. Astrid understood and was able to assess and diagnose my challenges and then, prescribe exactly what I needed. I really feel she helped me to improve so much. She also taught me great vocal warm-ups and breathing techniques. Lastly, she has such an enthusiastic and kind demeanor. I would highly recommend Astrid as a vocal coach!"

I have had many teachers so I’m in a position to know quality when I see it. She is so knowledgeable about how to bring the voice to it’s fullest potential. She is supportive, kind, honest, funny but most of all I am singing better then ever and feeling more confident. I would recommend her to anyone who loves singing and wants to express themselves as fully and passionately as possible.
