MY RESPONSIBILITIES
I will teach students the language of music in a positive and enthusiastic environment. It is my goal to empower each student to engage with music education in a manner reflective of their interests and long-term goals. I will tailor the curriculum to match each student's specific learning needs.
STUDENT & FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES
Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually and well-prepared. To make good progress, quality practice is necessary.
Parents: If something is happening at home or school that is affecting your child please let me know. The more information I have, the more I can be sensitive to the needs of your child.
All students are encouraged to participate in the studio concerts and take auditions for local ensembles and competitions. If an opportunity arises, please bring information to the next lesson so that I can help the student prepare.
If you have questions or would like input on the purchase of an instrument please let me know.
COMMITMENT
When students enroll, they are reserving their place until the end of the semester. Changes to weekly schedules may be made on a case-by-case basis each month before tuition is due.
Fall Semester - September through December
Spring Semester - January through April
Summer Semester - May through August
If the student decides to pause lessons during the course of a semester, they lose their weekly slot.
TUITION AND SCHEDULE
Tuition is calculated at a flat rate each month based on the annual studio calendar. The studio will be closed for most holiday breaks, following the school calendar, and that schedule will be communicated closer to each break. In the longer months, you may receive four weekly lessons while in the shorter months, you may receive three weekly lessons (depending on where your lesson days fall with regard to holidays and length of month). The tuition is the same each month.
There will be a minimum of 38 private lessons + monthly group classes + extra performance opportunities offered throughout the year, and the weeks where lessons are not held (due to holidays or performance opportunities) will be communicated in advance. Please note that tuition reserves the weekly time slot, but may not directly correlate with lessons received if the student does not attend the scheduled lesson times. There are two additional lessons built into the calendar year. These lessons can be canceled by the teacher on short notice. These lessons are complimentary in case no last-minute cancellations occur.
After the first payment, invoicing and payment will run automatically (make sure you save the Credit Card info to enable autopay). Tuition will be drawn 3 days prior to the next month from the method on file. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. All automatic payments are processed through Stripe. In the event that a payment is returned or declined a 48-hour window will be provided to adjust the payment method or resubmit the payment. Any payments not received by the 2nd of the month will receive a $10 late fee. Recurring late payments may result in the termination of the student’s enrollment.
CANCELLATION POLICY
In order to cancel tuition for the following month, written notification must be received via email at least 2 weeks in advance. In case that notice was not received by that deadline, the full tuition amount will be run automatically 3 days prior to the next month, and students have the option to use all paid lessons and attend group sessions the following month. Enrollment will then be canceled for the month after.
If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson, a make-up private lesson is guaranteed online or in person unless they fall under the 2 extra lessons that are built into the calendar year. These lessons can be canceled by the teacher on short notice. These lessons are complimentary in case no last-minute cancellations occur.
Private lessons with at least 24 hours notice before the lesson time are credited as a make-up credit. If notice is given less than 24 hours in advance, no make-up credit is provided.
All make-up credits will be used for that month’s studio class. This date will be announced at the start of each month on the My Music Staff Calendar. If the student is unable to attend the group class on this designated day the credit may be forfeited. One make-up credit per student will be approved and accommodated per month.
If the student is late for over 10 minutes, the lesson is canceled and no makeup credit is provided.
Make-up credits do not count as credit for the next month’s tuition, and flat monthly rate tuition invoices are prepaid and will not be altered. Planned vacations or other conflicts communicated in advance receive a make-up credit for that month.
Group classes are valuable for developing confidence and experience, as well as building a community around the studio. Every student can join them to observe and participate in group activities. One-on-one time during the group class will be guaranteed to the students with a makeup credit.
MUSIC & MATERIALS
All materials are provided by the studio. Each student is responsible for bringing the required music and materials to the lessons if needed. Materials will be assigned by the teacher and the student will be expected to have the materials ready.
PHOTO AND VIDEO RELEASE FORM
From time to time I use photos and short videos of my students around the studio, on the studio website, or in social media posts. These videos and posts are encouraging to other students and helpful to other teachers. If you do not want yours or your child's image(s) to be used, please let me know. In general, the students love to see their pictures and videos on my website or around the studio. They find it motivating and exciting to think that others want to know what they are learning. The students are identified only by first name.
By enrolling and paying tuition for myself or my child in MOREMUSIC.LIVE studio, I certify that I understand and agree to the studio policies.
"A LA CARTE" LESSON POLICY
"A La Carte Lesson" is a monthly subscription that provides flexible scheduling for students who can't commit to a weekly time but still want to remain in the studio. Most of the students decide to take 2 lessons per month. Additional lessons can be added if requested.
Scheduling must be done with 48 hours notice through Calendly: https://calendly.com/astridkuljanic
Lessons cannot be canceled for any reason with less than 48 hour notice or the lesson is forfeited.
Lesson credits do not roll over to the next month.
Two weeks' notice is required to cancel the automatic payment to stop the subscription.
Subscription rates will not be altered without an announcement a month in advance.
This subscription doesn't include access to group studio classes or other studio benefits like recitals and showcases. Additional fees could be charged to accommodate these additions.
